What is a Sales Area in SAP SD?
A Sales Area uniquely defines how a company sells products or services. It is a combination of three organizational units:

Division
Together, these three determine pricing, customers, documents, reporting, and legal responsibility in sales processing.

Assigned to one company code
Drives FI integration
Example:
India Sales, US Sales, Europe Sales

Controls pricing, discounts, output, and reporting
Same material can have different prices in different channels
Examples:
Wholesale, Retail, Online / E-commerce, Direct Sales
3. Division
Represents a product line or business line
Enables product-based reporting
Used for cross-division and mixed orders
